This picture is the head of the family hollow in West Virginia. This past summer I visited this place after almost 40 years of being away. The stories I told myself prior to arriving were nothing compared to reality and what I actually saw deep in the holler that day.
This reminded me of the stories I tell myself about current situations and life. There clearly is a difference between what I tell myself and what really happened (or is happening). It is all in my perspective of the situation.
I'm learning to change the stories I tell myself and, ultimately, my view of these situations.
This leads me to ask you: What stories are you telling yourself? What "story" do you need to change? Where do you need to change your outlook?
