Maybe I’m a little late on this, but I discovered a beautiful way to display a family tree and I really like it! Last week I purchased a new app for my Mac to assist me in organizing my basic genealogy information and to my surprise there was a “fan chart.” Prior to that, I was unaware of this type of chart. Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I always preferred the “pedigree” style, well, that is until I saw the fan chart!
The fan chart is reminiscent of the color wheel from Art class (from many years ago). It is color coded and grows in a circular fashion as your tree grows. It is a very interesting way to display your information. It also portrayed the areas of my research that need a little more work.
Have you used the Fan chart? What are your thoughts and/or first impression?
